World Communion Sunday October 6

In 1936, a group of pastors launched World-Wide Communion Day. Amid the Great Depression, they were looking for a way to meet people’s spiritual needs and unite Christians in their dedication to Christ. The observance, now known as World Communion Sunday, is held on the first Sunday of October. For eight decades, it has served as a reminder that Christians around the globe share the same meal in remembrance of Jesus. Join us for this observance on Sunday, October 6 as we feast at the table which Christ has opened to all people.

Blessing of the Pets October 6

In recognition that God loves all of creation and that animals play an important role in our lives, we will have a Blessing of the Animals on Sunday, October 6 at 2:00pm. We will gather in the gazebo on the circle for a time of thanksgiving and prayer, then Pastor Robin will pray for and bless each person and animal present. All animals welcome! Please make sure your pet is on a leash or in a carrier. If you cannot bring your animal, bring a picture.

Won’t You Be My Neighbor? Worship Series

Mister Rogers Neighborhood was a television series for children that promoted love, compassion and kindness, embodied by its host Fred Rogers. At the end of November, a new movie about Mr. Rogers, starring Tom Hanks, will be released nationwide. In recognition of the character traits of Mr. Rogers and how those characteristics intersect with the teachings of Jesus, our worship during the month of November will focus on these Kingdom qualities. At the conclusion of the series, we will sponsor a church outing to see the new movie. Look for details when the movie is released.
